This egg is coming from the state of Aguascalientes. Nice plain matrix and a cloudy and crystal filling. Unfortunatelly there's no further information on the precise source.

A typical Barranca geode from the state of Jalisco with the red matrix and cloudy agate.

Nayarit

Mariposa
Mariposa

size: 70x62 mm

That slice comes from an unknown site in Nayarit. It's a so called Butterfly Wing Jasper, a very unique thunderegg material with brecciated jasper filling in a shape of a butterfly. It's not the best piece but has nice colors.

Cold Mt.
Cold Mt.

size: 83x78 mm

At it is not really known whre the famous Butterfly Wing Jasper comes from, it must be close to the new source called Cold Mt. in the state of Nayarit. The pattern is really similar and those can have more fillings than the jasper eggs.

This shown t-egg is a nice mudball with a great pocket of chalcedony on the backside.

Sonora

El Berrendo
El Berrendo

size: 36x21 mm

Nice and small - a tiny but colorful red and blue thunderegg from El Berrendo. Long time the source of the so called Sonora Red Hot Agates was unknown. Now it seems to be El Berrendo. This little guy here has fine red haematite dots as agate lines.

Another state provides thundereggs, but unfortunately without any better location.

They have a typical habit with a light colored matrix, a dark rim with less than more cloudy agate following and usually a druzy interior.
